Hetalia - France and England, 1649 (page 1/2) by HeroicPlights Hetalia - France and England, 1649 (page 1/2) by HeroicPlights
A comic I had to make for my history class - my professor was fine with me using pre-existing character, so of course I had to use Hetalia. It's a Western Civ course, focusing on Europe and a bit on America from 1500s-WWII-ish. We had to make a comic depicting something that we've studied over the course so far, so I focused on England's constitutionalism and France's absolutism.

Sorry it's not all that funny, I was more concerned trying to get a bunch of facts in and keep it accurate (it actually has to be accurate for this class xD ) Anyway, this is really stupid, but here it is.

Haha, we had to make a historical/political cartoon based on something we covered in the lectures. I felt kind of lame for borrowing Hetalia characters to make it, but at the same time, it's too tempting to Hetalify events in history lol.

Hetalifying things is awesome though! I think that using the characters allows for personality.

I'm actually doing a project on 20's organized crime and my teacher said I could include Hetalia pictures on the cover.

Actually I really like this. I think this sort of subtle "I'm better than you" from both of them is both clever and enjoyable.

I wish so badly I'd get school assignments like that... Oh well. :)

Man, this is so accurate in my opinion. Painfullly so. :XD:

(And is that tea or coffee England's drinking? If tea, it'd actually be a bit inaccurate to the time setting, because if I remember my history correctly, the Brits didn't go crazy about tea until they had this huge company-tea-thingy called the East India Company or something... If coffee, accurate, seeing as it was an expensive luxury back then... If I remember correctly :slow:)

Yeah I was pretty lucky to have this assignment lol.
England's drinking tea, because France had his wine, so I thought it only appropriate that England was sipping tea in the opposite panel xD

Ah, too bad. Yet some how, I'm also somewhat happy, knowing this. England's just not England without his tea. :D (Much like France without his Wine isn't France lol :P)

I love the accuracy in the facts but the little humor integrated here and there :D

Funny but there's a small error, France didn't have a beard at this time period. It's stated that he grew it in the late 18th century, so save that for the French revolution.

But I wanted him to have a beard!
lol okay. I don't remember if that's mentioned in the show, I only saw the show and I haven't read much of the webcomic. Somehow I don't think my history professor will care, at least xD
